Congratulations Chuck-She is a beauty! It’s nice to know that it will be sailing with someone who will appreciate it.

I’m the fella who fell in love with the Nimble Nomad on the Erie Canal, and spent a week in June on the boat with my wife Laura. When we left the Finger Lakes on Saturday after our time on the Nomad, we felt like we were leaving something behind, and promised we would return in the years to come to explore more of the canals, the wonderful towns, people and, yes, vineyards and wineries along the way. Sunday night I found Chuck’s SeaBell listing. I couldn’t hardly sleep. Monday, I contacted the Broker in New York from the listing, who gave me Chuck’s contact information, and we spoke on the phone. Tuesday I met Chuck and saw the SeaBell for the first time in the water on Lake Geneva. There was no doubt that the owner, as well as the boat, are unique and extraordinary. I dare say the easiest part of deciding to buy the SeaBell was seeing so clearly how well she had been loved and cared for over the years. Today, “commerce” is not so easy, nor so genteel as it once may have been, but occasionally, a buyer and seller share a love for a thing that enters commerce, and the transaction is on a different level. Thank you, Chuck, for giving me the honor of purchasing the SeaBell. My wife and I are so very pleased.

A good boat is like an old friend with whom you share memories, and parting with a boat that has served you well, is like wishing your friend well on his continuing journeys. I feel good knowing SeaBell has a fine new future, with new ports to see, and with you as her captain, Steve. Bon voyage!
